To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and emails. Our privacy policy is designed to inform you of the types of information we collect, how we use that information, and the circumstances under which we will share it with nonaffiliated third parties.

Credit card and/or check account information is only used for payment processing and is not retained for any other purpose. From time to time, we may also use information to contact you for market research or provide you with information or offers we think you may find of interest. At the minimum, we will always give you the chance to opt out of future communication. We also follow local requirements, such as allowing you to opt in before receiving unsolicited contact, where applicable. Furthermore, we may choose to use third-party demographic data (such as gender, age and interests) to better understand how our website and social media streams are used to improve their visibility and usability.

It is our policy to ensure that personal data is not used or disclosed except as necessary to provide services, to protect the confidentiality or security of personal data or as otherwise permitted or required by law. TPMI does not rent, sell or lease personal data with others.  There may, however, be situations where we retain third parties to perform processing tasks or other activities and transfer personal data to those parties for specific purposes. We request that these groups agree to provide at least an equivalent level of protection as stated in this policy.

Categories of Nonaffiliated Third Parties to Whom we May Disclose Nonpublic Personal Information: (Nonaffiliated third parties are those companies not under direct or indirect ownership or control with Turning Point Ministries International). We only disclose personal information about you to the following types of nonaffiliated third parties: Financial services providers, such as companies engaged in banking, credit cards, and consumer finance; background check agencies with your explicit approval; as well as software services that assist in communication and order processing.

We may also share the information we collect, as described above, with other nonaffiliated third parties such as third parties who may assist us in preparing monthly statements, and credit reporting agencies to whom we report information about your transactions with us.

By way of further example:

  • Order
We request information from consumers making purchases from our registered merchants within our shopping cart and order processing interfaces. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address), financial information (like credit card number, expiration date), and in some cases identity information (like social security number or Federal Tax ID). This information is used to fill customer’s orders, for billing purposes, and to verify the identity of the consumer to protect against fraud. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user.
  • Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. Cookies can be removed from your hard drive. Also, depending on what type of web browser and what browser version you are using, you may be able to change the properties on your cookie file so that cookies are not used or saved. Please check with your browser provider for more information on removing cookies.
  • Log Files
We may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

  • Sharing
We partner with other parties to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use nonpublic personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services. We do not otherwise disclose nonpublic information to anyone, except as permitted by law.

  • Links
This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Turning Point Ministries International, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by TPMI Web sites. • Security
This website takes precautions to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number, social security number, and/or Federal Tax ID), that information is encrypted and is protected with SSL encryption software. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to your information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our constituent’s information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

If you have any questions about the security at our website, you can send an email to finance@tpmi.org

Choice
TPMI will not use or share the personally identifiable information you provide to us in ways unrelated to the ones described above without first letting you know and offering you a choice to opt out. As previously stated, you may let us know if you do not wish to receive unsolicited direct marketing materials from us and we will do everything we can to honor that request.  If you would like your personal information completely erased from our records please notify us in writing at TPMI, PO Box 925489, Houston, TX 77292. You may also email us at TPMI@TPMI.org. Please include contact information for verification purposes.
